Markus Wilhelm's life and art are one in the same. Born in the South of Germany, he has always been a seeker of knowledge and new experiences. After schooling at the world-renowned School of Visual Arts in New York City, he apprenticed with Germany's most significant living artist, Rainer Fetting famous for his Neo-Expressionism. Another great influence on Markus's practice was his Studio Painting Instructor, the Iconic Marilyn Minter.

What does this mean for his work? It is Interdisciplinary as well as Exploratory. Markus loves to push boundaries and experiment with new media and techniques. His paintings are sensual, provocative and often invite the viewer into an intimate conversation.
